Tricolor are found naturally in Central America and Mexico. They are known for their beautiful red/green color when in bloom. This is a "spiky" plant that has firm leaves. As you can see in the pictures, these plants eventually produce stoloniferous offsets that can end up growing into very large clumps, some producing over a dozen plants in one clump. The clumps we offer typically have anywhere from 4 to 8 medium/large sized plants on them.
Note: If possible, we will always send these out if they are in bloom. If we have none blooming at the moment, you will receive the plant as normal, then expect to see a bloom when that time of season comes around.
Tillandsia Tricolor prefer bright light and thrive in more humid conditions. These plants are good endurance plants and can withstand a variety of conditions. During Summer, submerge plants in water for 30 to 60 minutes every week. After soaking, set plants upside down on a towel to dry before returning them to their containers. During the winter months, you may water less frequently, but be sure to watch the plant closely to ensure it is receiving adequate hydration. Once per month fertilization is recommended.
